RHODES
Rhodes island considered home of the one of the seven wonders of the world, the famous Colossus and is the capital of Dodecanese islands.
Bursting by green areas, sandy beaches and pebble beaches with crystal clear waters. Important archaeological sites and fascinating human creations, complete the incomparable charm of Rhodes. Capital city of Rhodes is one of the most interesting cities in the world as the port edge of the old city, which is surrounded by an impressive wall and it looks like it sticks. The impressive Castle of the Knights with many medieval buildings, the paved road which the knights descended with their horses, churches, museums, monuments, old libraries and archaeological finds creates you the feeling of a bygone era.
Also, small hotels, houses and large squares as well as restaurants, cafes, bars and shops in the famous Socrates Street will await you. Touring around the island you will encounter numerous villages that are worth to visit. The famous Valley of the Butterflies, which is a natural area with rich vegetation, running water and a unique butterfly species flying around, is one of the most famous natural beauties of Rhodes. Prassonisi, the most stunning natural area, has the best beach on the island, which is covered in winter by the sea. Lindos is a separate traditional village surrounding famous Akropolis on the hill, where you can go on foot or by donkey. A village that bustles with interesting museums, sculpted rock amphitheater, isolated beaches, medieval houses and countless restaurants, cafes and shops.
If you are interested in more cosmopolitan areas and looking for exciting nightlife and endless entertainment, Ialyssos, Trianta, Ixia and Faliraki are ideal places as except clubs have also endless beaches with organized water sports. The city of Rhodes, is certainly the ultimate choice for your enjoyment as it has interesting sights such as the Acropolis at Monte Smith and the mysterious aquarium with the endless coast that surrounds it.
Don’t forget to visit traditional villages of Archangel, Afandou, Koskinou, Salakos, Monolithos, Kremasti, Paradisi, Theologos, Kalythies and Emponas, as well and ancient city of Kamiros with historical findings, the monastery of Panagia Tsambika with its wonderful sandy beach.
Filerimos, a sacred site with the church of Our Lady and the street with stone pillars showing the passion of Christ and leads to enormous imposing cross that has internal staircase. Climb it to admire the incomparable view.
